Best library, considering size of town, I have belonged to and this includes major cities in Australia, Europe, Scandinavia, and Asia. Cafe is a bonus.
Love the kids area. Lots to do games and reading books. Interactive mat on the floor for kids to use for letters of names. We love it
Lovely library, very helpful accommodating assistants, nice wee cafe, I shall certainly enjoy being a member of this place
Great place to read, have coffee, relax and borrow books. Very helpful staff.
Amazed at how big it is. Lots of books and cafe inside. Great place to escape the busy life.
Always great to visit. No air-conditioning!!
Great modern place. Free wifi, free computers, lots of cool areas to sit and read. Kids book section is awesome, love the steps to sit and read on. Clean and quiet most of the time, just avoid the hour or 2 after school when lots of school kids come in if you want some peace and quiet.
A Vaccine Pass for a public library? Why is this necessary? The cafe could easily be separated from the rest of the building. I have seen children denied access to the library for not having a Vaccine Pass and told to go to the Kamo library instead. The Central Library is walking distance from most schools and a safe, educational environment to go to after school has finished. Public libraries are for all people, this discrimination should be ended.
I love library mine and the public, this particular Whangarei holds a special place to me, you could say I'm self educating myself further and beyond the schools and university and various institutions my hungry brain has attended, in all libraries there are many many ways to do rhis, small town libries are imbued with great sections and old photographs of local knowledge, the Māori section here in this library is brilliant. The structure of the building reflects our being situated in the south pacific, its tall flowing bannister leads 1 up to the heights of the human condition, wow thats deep. I this place, also all of the staff feel like they really enjoy being there, i found this experience awesome, akin to other libraries from which I have seeked out some whim and whisper within i thirst for understanding.
A vibrant hub for people of all ages. Great to see Bridge Club ladies promoting the game & looking out for anyone wanting to learn. Nice little cafe too with good coffee & tasty food. My granddaughter & I spent a happy few hours there.
