Great gallery. Very interesting exhibition on Hikurangi swamp, which I would recommend to all. One of the world's largest inland swamps... made into pasture. The wildlife would have been abundant! Learn from past mistakes...
Well worth a visit in Whangarei! Free to enter. Small and interesting exhibits, including interactive elements. Only improvement to suggest is it would be great to have more information on the artists who produced the pieces as I was left feeling curious!
When you just finish lunch, this is an excellent time. Quick drop in.
Lovely engaging attendant who was helpful and knowledgeable about the current exhibitions.
This place has definitely made me more self-motivated to discover more about the art scene and want to interact and communicate with the different art societies in Northland. I get to learn through the people there how the gallery and art process works and is a great treat to the public!
We were on a school trip and found the staff very knowledgeable. They related to the children well and could get the information across at the appropriate level. Well worth it. The art exhibition was on "Where children sleep" from around the world and the children found it very thought provoking.
New show was being hung but Freda and the Group was a jewel of an exhibition
Go play!.. interact with art!
Awesome experience
