Stunning flower tableaux and fascinating outdoor gallery, so many special little details! "A public good should be a public care. All should preserve what àll may share."
So beautiful and well kept. Always updated with the most recent theme, eg Easter / Christmas… definitely a must see. And while you are here, have a walk around Virginia Lake, visit the aviary or enjoy a picnic. So much to do.
Lovely place, careful the ducks don't steal your chips
Very nice place to visit, family friendly
One of my favourite places. The Winter Gardens is magical all year round. The floral display changes with the season or special calendar event. The Christmas display is always fabulous. It is such a joy to wander along the pathways, past the wishing well, the goldfish pond, the tunnel, the fountains and other water features. And all this under cover; great for a rainy or cloudy day, especially if you pop into the cafe next door. The outdoor garden has lots of seating, a fern grove, art installations and are immaculate. The bird song is delightful! The Aviary, Playground and Bowl are a must see too plus the walk around Virginia Lake. A great place to stop for a rest while on State Highway 3 or for locals to enjoy.
I've loved this since I was a child. It's worth visiting. Also a good place to go if it starts to rain! A great range of plants, really colorful and well displayed.
We went here on a Sunday afternoon. Lovely place to spend time with your loved ones. Can take food and cook it on their brick gas bbq's. Gardens are well kept with orchids, begonias and ferns.
This place is stunning! The best winter gardens I've been to in NZ. I went at Easter and they had a beautiful display it was so cute
Loveeeeeeee the winter gardens. I grew up in Wanganui then moved away, but I always visit the winter gardens when I go back visiting. The plants are always in great shape and inspiringly displayed, and l love being able to take my children to it and watch them play in the tunnel like I used to as a child. Keep up the great work!! Ps I also always love the FREE bird aviary, one cockatoo used to always say hello when I was a girl and one said hello to us this visit, maybe it's the same cockatoo?? Awesome experience.
Many beautiful flowers and plants, one of the best gardens I have ever visited in NZ, very stunning
