Whakauae is Ngāti Hauiti's research arm and offers a broad range of Māori centred research services nationally and internationally, mainly in the health field.
To assist Māori to reach their potential by sustainably delivering Māori research founded on academic and research excellence, and mātauranga Māori, in a way that brings together Ngāti Hauiti interests, with the interests of Māori in general.
We balance a research portfolio which includes both academic research initiated by a members of the Whakauae team and externally contracted research. We have a strong commitment to including local Māori community-based research in our research portfolio.
