The vision of Whakatāne Museum and Arts is to learn from the past, engage with the present and inspire the future by preserving, protecting and promoting the social, cultural, natural and artistic heritage of the Whakatāne District and rohe o Mataatua, in ways that increase knowledge, enrich the spirit, engage the mind and stimulate the senses.

Lack of privacy, and intimidating atmosphere
Great exhibition currently open at the museum. Male woven art from maori artists.
Beautiful exhibits in the museum, and the library is clean and has some awesome kids stuff, and the staff are friendly!
Lovely centre with changing exhibitions, library staff are the most friendly and helpful people you can imagine. Good book selection also.
Relaxing, friendly staff, free WiFi and lots of books
Its a lovely little library with good staff. The collection isnt very large though but still decent.
Very inviting. Warm. Relaxing place to read with the most helpful and cheerful staff.
