Had amazing pics when I was there 7 months ago. Wonderful views from the carport area but there was a slight haze for distant photos. Opportunity to see some plants & flowers blooming when the snow has receded. Got the chance to see what it is like without much snow.
Was chasing cyclists doing both this and the Ohakune climb. Great little coffee cart just past the Chateau. Incredible views all the way up.

Great ride up the gondola, even though the cloud was covering the top of the maunga! Lunch at Pinnacles was awesome. Great value and lots of choices. Awesome to be able to walk around the mountain environment!
Beautiful ski area. Visited during summer. So it had a lunar landscape.
Went to the pinnicles for lunch, off season so no snow, can't believe we ski on top of all the rocks. A very different view of the slopes but views out just as impressive.
Amazing experience, Scenic place.
Didn't think it would be interesting without snow but boy was I wrong! Great gondola ride followed by nice smorgasbord meal.
