Weymouth Boating Club isn’t your classic beach destination — great boat ramp though and it’s not trying to be. Tucked away near the water’s edge, this spot is all about boating, fishing, and soaking up the peaceful coastal atmosphere. There’s no sandy shoreline or swimmers here — instead, it serves as a well-used boat ramp and a gathering place for locals who love life on the water.nnOn sunny days, the club really comes to life. You’ll see boats of all kinds being launched — from small tinnies and kayaks to jet skis and fishing vessels. It’s a hub for the boating community, and there’s a strong sense of local pride among regulars who make the most of the great access to the harbour. Whether you’re heading out for a day’s fishing or just a cruise, it’s a perfect starting point.nnFishing is a big part of the scene here. People gather near the ramp or head out beyond the shoreline to cast their lines, often coming home with decent catches. It’s not just about the fishing though — it’s the calm, laid-back vibe and connection with nature that makes this place special.nnBut what really makes Weymouth Boating Club stand out is the chance to witness something truly magical — bottlenose dolphins. These incredible creatures have been spotted in the area on several occasions, delighting anyone lucky enough to see them. Watching dolphins glide through the water just metres from your boat or the shoreline is a rare and unforgettable experience. It’s these moments that turn an ordinary day on the water into something extraordinary.nnWhen the sun’s out and the tide’s right, Weymouth Boating Club offers a slice of peace away from the noise. The water sparkles, boats come and go, and there’s a sense of quiet community that makes it feel like a local treasure.nnSo while it may not be a beach in the traditional sense, Weymouth Boating Club is a brilliant spot for boaters, fishers, and anyone who enjoys a more relaxed connection with the sea — with the added bonus of the occasional dolphin sighting to remind you just how special this place can be.
