If you want to lose money this is the council for you. They helped take $500,000 half a million off the value of my house. They're absolutely useless. Most councils believe in assisting the ratepayers. Not this one, in fact the CEO has publicly stated that he doesn't answer to the ratepayers. At best this Council does nothing and at worst they deliberately obstruct. Best advice is to move away to another council, there is no possibility they will be worse than this one. Do remember to keep records of your transactions so that you'll be ready when they try to charge you a second time. Council has a slush fund to pay for consents when people don't want to pay for theirs. Try and get in on that.
Old mayor - new mayor same self centered - most expensive rates in New Zealand and they still do not look into cost cutting, improvements, or sell not much used assetsnwhy do they have to use the most expensive IT system when there are way cheaper options, ......nWhen do they start to look out for their customers????nI could go on and on, but they do not listenn7% rates increase for same or decreasing services like waste management - closing of greerton transfer station, se we all have to waste time and petrol to drive to Bayfair
Re - Water issues. My wife called to ask where the water tankers for Pukehina residents were after reading online not to bathe or drink the water. She was informed that it was at the Pukehina beach surf lifsaving club. So I drove up only to discover that there was NO water tanker, so I then drove down Pukehina Parade to see if it was parked somewhere else. With no luck I returned home and called western bay of plenty district council to see where it was parked. I was then told that there was no water tanker, but one may be out here later this afternoon and that the telephone operator was sorry. I acknowledge that it is not the call center staffs' mistake as they were acting on the information that their management had provided, however they should not have had that information to begin with unless they knew for a fact that there was water tankers available.nnI think there would also be a number of people equally disappointednAnd would also like to know why the council did not just stop the flow of water after finding there was a problem.nJust not impressed with council.
I had Water pressure problem on Monday the 18th of January rang council ist thing Tuesday 19th the council person i spoke too was great put in touch with water department they where at my place by 9.30 had the problem sorted buyn12.00 thanks for the great service.
Extremely expensive rates for the services they provide to rural households- there is no water or sewage services to my property and yet my rates are more expensive than those in town. Services are sloppy and I get different information and advice when I speak to different departments. Very frustrating to deal with.
