Laser Eye Surgery Specialist Since 1994

The Wellington Eye Centre is New Zealand’s premier laser eye surgery provider. The clinic offers significant experience, unparalleled technology, and amazing value to patients looking for laser vision correction.
We pride ourselves on our state of the art equipment as well as our first class service. We have introduced a number of advanced eye surgery techniques in New Zealand, including being the first in New Zealand to perform LASIK and the new SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction) laser surgery. The clinic was founded in 1988 by Dr Andrew Logan, a renowned New Zealand pioneer in refractive surgery procedures. Dr Logan has worked to create the Wellington Eye Centre to be the premier laser surgery provider it is today. He prides himself on having the latest technology and being at the forefront of new and proven techniques and procedures.
Our team are highly trained and use some of the most advanced diagnostic and therapeutic ophthalmic equipment in Australasia. Wellington Eye Centre was the first eye clinic to obtain the VisuMax™ femtosecond laser in 2009 - the most advanced laser vision correction technology available to date.
Our eye specialist, Dr Andrew Logan has extensive experience in laser eye surgery and has had training both locally and internationally. Dr Logan also has experienced being in your shoes, he himself had refractive surgery in 1996 to remove his need for spectacles. Dr Logan’s key achievements include:
- He was the first eye surgeon in New Zealand to carry out LASIK eye surgery, more than a year before any other New Zealand clinic.
- In 2002 he was the first New Zealand surgeon to perform LASEK eye surgery.
- Dr Logan was the first in New Zealand to perform SMILE laser vision correction in 2014, a new flap-less refractive surgery option.
Our goal is to not only maintain our leadership in introducing and providing new techniques and technologies, but to deliver them with the highest standard of care. We are an affiliated Southern Cross provider and NZAS accredited for room based procedures.
