Was a lovely trip. Good to see different things you don't see from the road. Only disappointment was, we were expecting the steam train. Which it wasn't. Not sure why..
Lovely way to spend a Sunday. Went with a group with our bikes and went for a bike ride before returning after 3pm.
A fun but slow trip. Well done to all the volunteers who keep the trains running and for providing this unique journey. Ideally go in the morning and come back in the afternoon, otherwise the turn around times are very short and don't provide much opportunity to relax in Waikari.
A great train ride with some stunning views and friendly staff, not a bad way to spend a Sunday.

Excellent. One of the best "short" train trips I've been on in NZ. Great scenery. Only complaint that there is no sound system in the open carriage. Volunteers were very professional and very obliging. Well done. Thankyou.
This is well worth a day trip I was surprised how cheap the fare was . Friendly staff and also very helpful .
