Very disappointing experience with W&L. I was client of Wax & Laser for 2.5 years, from 2019 until end of 2021, during which time I did laser treatments. Sadly, my results were very poor, which I raised with them several times. W&L have a guarantee in place, and they may give you 5 free sessions if you purchase 8 of them and at the end of those 8 sessions, your results are poor. This was my case. As I am not a subject matter expert, I assumed that after 13 sessions I would see better results. This is what I was being told too they estimate an 80% hair reduction, but make you sign a form stating that results are not guaranteed. As I didn't really see better results after my 13th session, I raised this with Wax & Laser again, and then asked for a refund, but offered to go in for an assessment so that they could see the results themselves in person I had sent them photos. During this time post treatments my interactions were via email with Roger Thomas owner of Wax & Laser Limited with his wife, who flatly rejected my request I ended up requesting a part refund, as I also acknowledged the cost it was for the company to provide me with 5 sessions under their guarantee. I never got an answer in response to my offer to go in for an assessment. In my unsuccessful email interactions, it was suggested it may be due to hormone imbalances or PCOS quote "we have a long experience of treating clients with this condition and they do need to receive regular ongoing treatments because the hair grows back in exactly the same way yours has". In response to the above communication, I sent Wax N Laser medical results from some tests I had done not too long before this including hormonal testing, refuting their assumptions. Despite a follow up, to date, I have not received a response to this. I called the Lower Hutt branch on Thursday 14 April at around 9:05am, to simply check if my last two emails had been received, and was told by one of the lovely staff that these had been received but that she was "not sure, but she thought that Roger was not going to continue to reply to my emails". My last interaction with this company was last week, as I requested all the personal information they held about me, to see what had actually been noted down on their system. They only responded to this because it was an OIA request. I am sure Wax & Laser is a good company and most of their laser clients see great results. However, when there is a small percentage of people who don't, and have shown you that they do not have 'hormonal imbalances' nor any other health issues, I expect a company to do better in providing a remedy to such clients. Instead, I was eventually ignored apart from the response to the information request. For this reason, I would be very, very careful to go to this place for laser, and pay such a large sum of money in advance. Their initial consultation does not indicate at all whether treatments will offer you good results, and in the end you might end up having essentially wasted $2000+ dollars! I am giving two stars because the place is clean, tidy, the ladies staff are lovely, helpful people and I am sure their other services are fine.Service: Laser hair removal
I arranged a full body wax for a friend for a stag party. I made this very clear both in the online booking form, and then verbally over the phone, and there was never any issue raised. When we arrived, the business refused to serve us. When asked why, they bounced between various excuses, from his costume, to not wanting a large group on the premises, to the therapist not being interest we offered to have him change clothes, for the group to wait off -site etc, they weren't interested in any of it. The poor stag had to be waxed by non-professionals which caused him substantial discomfort.....Service: Body waxing

Went here for my first leg wax yesterday first ever wax. They were very professional, friendly, and informative. The wax was surprisingly painless and fast. The girl who did my wax was really friendly and easy to talk to. Would highly highly recommend this place. Will be back next time.
