Absolutely incredible, like so much wow, you can actually feel the level of wow throughout your entire body movement mechanisms and even between the cogs of your internal whirly whiz bang bitz Just wow!
We stayed during July 2017, on a NZ holiday, my wife loves period accommodation so. The place appeared to be left to a group of backpackers touring NZ, the lady was very helpful. We had the top north facing room. Very large room and it had some great furniture and fittings and some just filling space. This and two other rooms were accessed by an external uncovered stairway not for the older person and a struggle with large bags. The TV was not HD and not many channels, heating was via a small portable, the bed mattress did not go to the edge of the frame and was passed its used by date. Under the bed there was quite a lot of dust, but all the normal areas we OK. Breakfast was a set affair but OK. The dining room did not appear to have had a dust in the three days we were there. Generally the grounds and the house are in need of work and some love, it may appear that since the renovations it has not been an on going labor of love.
Unusual space. We had a room under the main house, the smell of mothballs was a little overwhelming. The bath tub in the room looked nice in the pictures, but in reality was very out of place. The receptionist was a bit awkward and left us feeling like we had come to the wrong place. The house and gardens are beautiful from the outside, but on the inside it just needs a bit of tlc. Understandably this is a very old property and must be difficult to maintain...
Plates, cutlery, tea, coffee etc in toilet and bathroom area.Electrical services comprised of two multi boxes. One of these had toaster, jug, microwave and heater plugged into it.Needless to say the safety switch tripped needing to be reset. There were radiators in bathroom and bedroom areas but the valves were turned off. We were told these activated at 7pm and turned off at 7pm.Somewhat hard when valves are turned off. We booked for four nights, however the first night was double booked so we had to find alternative accommodation for first night. Not a good experience.
If you're looking for a unique accommodation and atmosphere in sunny Nelson, than Warwick house is the place for you. The place is beautiful and most importantly, the hosts, Nick & Jenny are wonderful and good people. They helped me a lot in private matters as well and I feel fortunate that our paths have crossed. My stay there was a very positive experience that still echos in my life. Thank you, Limor
I'd give even less stars if it were possible. I had spent lots of time and energy deciding where to stay for my holiday, and had to coordinate with several other people to find hotels nearby. I booked a night with these folks, my reservation was confirmed, I received an email confirmation.... and then the next day they cancelled my stay, claiming that an additional night was necessary. At no point during the booking system was that information presented, and now I'm wasting more time re-coordinating accommodation. Perhaps they are nice to stay with once you actually arrive, but their customer service was brusque and dismissive - especially rude considering it was their own error.
this place was disgusting, we had a group of 19 people for a hens party yesterday, still made us pay per person. there was hair in the sandwiches and in the cups, the food was all stale, the cheese was melted, the food was sitting out well before we got there, there were Flys all over the food and ants. the gluten free sandwiches were on the same plate as the normal sandwiches with white crums all over it. the lady we delt with was rude and wouldn't see were we were coming from. none of the food was touched so why should we have had to pay. I do not recommend this place at all! if you want want a high tea go to Melrose house there high teas are amazing
We had a wonderful stay with my wife for 2 days to discover the beautiful region of Nelson. Warwick house is a very unique place and the housing was very dedicated and qualited.
Do not recommend there food. We had a high tea party and there was flys and hair in the food. It was not worth 25 dollers we didn't even eat anything. Very poor and will defiantly only be going back to Melrose house.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this magnificent old house, Very impressed with the restoration work done and the staff were very helpful. We were made to feel very much at home.
