Stopped by to have a look and try some beers as have seen these guys beers all over the Wānaka and heard so many good reviews. Stopped by and spoke to one of the owners and he kindly said there’s a tour in 5 minutes jump on in. So me and the mrs paid a small fee of $25nzd as it was only me drinking, but the mrs still come along to spectate for free. The guys are full of knowledge and so passionate about there company and job role, and showed us from start to finish of the whole process and answered all questions. Great guys and up for a laugh. And finally the 4 free testers of any beer choice was just unreal.. real tasteful beers.. and also had a free tester of this seasons new summer beer called strawberry lager.. unreal. Also left with some takeaway beer. Highly recommend if in Wānaka, won’t disappoint.
Managed to stop past just in time for the daily tour which was super informative and helped explain some of the concepts of brewing to my wife and I. The beers are also great and they give discounts to those who do the tour which I really appreciated. The Black Head was AWESOME and I was lucky enough to get to have a fee samples as my wife and others didn't enjoy them!
Interesting insights of beer making and provided tastings of the different products offered at a reasonable price. Worth the try, and also it is right next to interesting activities such as toy museum and crossfire rifle shooting, making it a great place for day trip in wanaka
Good little brewery tucked away in the toy and transport museum. $10 flight with 6 samples. Beer was okay but the staff was super friendly and very informative.
Great place. Brilliant craft beer set in the stunning southern alps. Definitely worth the trip you won’t regret going.
OMG just tried the 2.5% beer at a cafe in Clyde and absolutely loved it!!! So I went online and ordered a 24 pack. lol.
Got the end of the keg didn’t full the glass tasted weak told the staff they didn’t care $9 for 1/2 a glass of water
Probably one of the best brewery tour I have done! Very detailed explanation of the beer making process and guided tour of the facility by the brewmaster who was very knowledgeable and passionate. The tour and tasting 4 beers sample is 20$ and well worth it. Great selection of great beers!
We had a great time at the Wanaka Beerworks Brewery. We tried their Jabberwocky Pale Ale in Wanaka and sought out the brewery to try more. The Brewery is in a bit of an odd setting, housed in the toy and transportation museum, but it did not take away in any manner and was kind of cool in the end. The red IPA and double IPA were great choices. Bartender knowledgeable and friendly. Reasonably priced craft beer too. So many places in NZ charge waaaay to much for craft beers, but the prices here were fair.
The tour and tasting was great. The tasting room worker really knew his stuff and went through all the beers with us. I went last yes as well, but seems to be new staff who are passionate and knowledgeable. Would maybe come back, but feels like a one time thing. I'll definitely keep drinking the beer!
