I played Walton golf course today. What can I say about it, not a lot other tan awesome. Well worth the drive from Auckland. The course is in mint condition. I will definitely be back.

For a first time visitor ..... such a beautiful well maintained country course. Well worth a visit .... you'll just love it!!
Great open fairways and the greens were like carpet and fast. Congrats and thanks to the ground staff who I believe are volunteers.
On a boys trip with 6 experienced golfers and only ended up playing Walton as Ngaruawahia was busy. Wow what an unexpected surprise this gem of a course is. The course architects knew what they were doing with a mixture of interesting shorter risk and reward par 4s and challenging longer holes. The greens were well prepared and a fair test of golf. Good shots were rewarded and bad shots....you get the picture. Tee boxes, fairways and trees/gardens were very well presented and maintained. Our group have played many fine courses allaround NZ and Walton has made our short list of tracks we would happily play again. The locals were friendly at the 19th....thanks for tracking down my errant 8 iron!
Was recommended to play here on way back to Auckland from Hawkes Bay and glad I did. Certainly a"gem" of a golf course. Trees out in bloom, and the different varieties make it a very pretty course to play plus frogs in the pond made it quite special. A few patches of mushy areas but drop zones very well marked. Very easy course to follow, with some sloping fairways and the greens in very good condition. Power points for 2 campervans but parking for more if you don't need power. &20 overnight for power,toilets and showers. Keith in the office helped set me up with the facilities and made sure all was ok when he left for the day, thankyou Keith. Will definitely make it a return visit. Love these country courses
A wonderful course in the middle of nowhere. Play here and you might have it to yourself. Greens and surrounds in wonderful condition. Fairways well maintained. Course is well worth a visit. You won’t be disappointed.
