WAIYouth are a group of young people who take action on things their peers want to see happening in the community, run events, volunteer, and more!

WAIYouth are a group of young people who take action on things their peers want to see happening in the community. We also run awesome events, volunteer at different things, and give other young people an opportunity to get involved!

We have one core crew made up of representatives from local groups in Kaiapoi, Rangiora, Oxford, and eventually Woodend. If you want to be a part of WAIYouth just send us a message!

In 2010 The Waimakariri District Council adopted the WAIMAKARIRI YOUTH DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY with this vision:

'The Waimakariri District is a community where all young people feel connected, encouraged and proud to be from North Canterbury. It is a community which values young people and works in partnership with them to create the very best outcomes.'

So here's a way that we can connect and hear about the cool stuff that is happening around our district and generally just celebrate being a young person in the mighty Waimakariri District!
