Really disappointed that the financial issues haven't been resolved to reopen this once, extremely popular Hot Pool destination aka "Waiwera Thermal Resort & Spa". These Hot Pools were a huge attraction for locals, New Zealanders & travellers alike! They generated heaps of business for the local area. I am bewildered as to why this well known attraction has closed down! The prices to get in were always fairly expensive but they still got the business - especially during the chilly winter months. Come on Auckland Council, what happened? Someone get too greedy in their mismanagement of this popular spot??
