This is a difficult property to rate. The facility is new and clean but very simply appointed. The bed was -very- comfortable but the "Riverside" units are also RAIL side. The train sounded like it passed through our unit. The shower is a simple open walk-in design. The furniture is a wide array of basic plywood construction. A larger coffee/tea/microwave station would have been nice. Aside from the railway noise, the property is easy to find and the waterway is pleasant. Check-in and check-out is easy. Compared to similar hotels in other towns, I would say this is slightly over priced.
So much better than I expected being not so used to staying at lodges. Staff are friendly and very helpful. Very considerate. Will definitely recommend and stay again if we come back to Waitomo! The rooms are family friendly and have everything you need. Beds are comfy and the rooms are spacious.Rooms: 5/5
Lyn and Richard are the hosts. Rooms clean, shower good, beds comfortable. Be sure to pull all the curtains at night. Lyn will meticulously go through every jam/spread, every cereal, tea type for breakfast and share history about the Waitomo hotel where Queen Elizabeth stayed in 1954. Great value.Rooms: 4/5
We absolutely loved our stay at Waitomo Lodge. Everything was exceptional, beautiful linen, fantastic service, the rooms were spotless, we will definitely be back and recommend this to any traveller in this region. Te Kuiti is a cute little town Rooms: Spotlessly clean and well set up Nearby activities: We found the best bar/restaurant and as we were just passing through it made us want to return Safety: A small Nz town very safe and easily accessible
The place was better than expected! The beds were clean and neat. Rooms had AC and fans provided which was helpful. The space looked very nice and was comfortable. The only thing was that there were a lot of ants on the kitchen counter. The bathroom products provided were good quality. Food & drinks: Stoked eatery near by was so delicious
We had vehicle issues and needed a last minute booking in Te Kuiti for a large family, along with extra logistical issues. The service at Waitomo Lodge was excellent and we really appreciate their flexibility to make our unexpected stay the best it could be. Tidy and comfortable motel room style accommodation.
We were pleasantly surprised with how good this accommodation was!!! Having stayed at a few 'star rated' accommodations recently, Waitomo Lodge really out did itself! The service was brilliant upon arrival, the rooms although not flash, are super clean, functional, and just really nice!!! Everything you need for a comfortable stay! We really recommend Waitomo Lodge - Just ask for room away from the main road, the trucks do thunder down the main street in the evenings!!! Rooms: We stayed in a deluxe suite, located at the back on the Lodge - really spacious, with a little lounge area, balcony, TV, AC and kitchen. The rooms are not flash, and furnishings are basic, but everything is super clean and fresh. Walkability: Close to all the required amenities required
The rooms are a bit cabin-like, but very clean and had a nice patio facing the greenery outside which was a nice surprise. Sam was very accommodating and helped make our stay go smoothly!Rooms: 4/5

Good and convenient hotel. The WiFi was good speed. The rooms are not new but decent and clean. Recommended for a one or two nights stop over. Rooms: Rooms were clean and adequate
