The parking lot is located across the street from the Waitomo caves entrance. There is also an underground tunnel that goes to the area so it is quite safe. It does get full which would require parking further away.
Sufficient parking space for the visitors and well marked for the proper parking. However it’s on the mountain so it’s downtown steeper.nFor safety reasons there’s the tunnel to avoid crossing from the road and have direct access to the cave reception from the tunnels.nBest of luck for your trip.
Won't be short of lots here as there are plenty, but it's on a crazy steep hill we had to park our camper at the far end to avoid dealing with the parking angle. I liked that there's an underground crossing.
It was a shame that I couldn't take pictures of the cave.nI finally saw Waitomo, the place I wanted to go to.nIt was beautiful and nice enough. Looking at so many Grow Worms, it was as beautiful as the stars in the sky.nThey say the number has decreased a lot now, but it's still enough.nIt was worth seeing.
Magical nature, extremely beautiful, it feels like a dialogue with life! Marvel at the tenacious survival of these fireflies in such a dark environment. Although their lives are so short, their light of life brings eternal beautiful memories to people!
