Went and had lunch today at Waitomo Caves Cafe and Restaurant. What a lovely place, although it was raining, you were protected and sheltered by the overhead canopies.nnIt was lovely looking out through the rain to the cows grazing on the paddocks across the road.nnPlace was humming with tourists eating, purchasing, and socializing before or after their caves experience.nnThe service was excellent. Even though they said there was a delay, kai and kāwhe arrived promptly. Burger was good, as was the coffee.nnIt's worth a stop if visiting Waitomo Caves.
We’ve ordered vegan pizza and chilli wedges. The portions of the food was good specially the wedges. The taste of the pizza was good little bit oily though but was good.nOverall not bad!!
The open air cafe under the canopy makes it a cool spot to have breakfast, which comes in handy for an early Glow worm cave tour. The egg muffin was excellent, but the flat white was pale and frothy. We also struggled to find a clean table despite it being relatively empty. The place is also quite pricey for a cafe.
Very cozy place to have your breakfast or lunch . Nice place. Good food. Good price. We ate Roast Beef Wrap , Bao Buns, BBQ Pork, and Vegan Slice. Everything delicious . And you should definitely get a very good hot chocolate as well. You won't regret it.
We stopped here for a bite between our two cave tours. It is a bit pricey for what you get pretty standard for dining options located at tourist attractions but the food was good and relatively quick. I accidentally ordered a “veggie roll” instead of a “veggie spring roll”, but really enjoyed the veggie roll.
