Pet friendly holiday park by Waitara Beach and Waitara River mouth. Locals were fishing at the river mouth and the beach is calm for swimming. Free hot showers and really good location next to massive childrens park. You can park on the non-powered sites with sea views, sunrises and sunsets by the hill. Scroll thru and see photos of sunsets with sea views. The host is very friendly too. There is new world supermarket, gas station, restaurants, liquor shops, laundry and many more shops in Waitara so you can do all your shopping.
I met Dee at the reception she was amazing and good to chat with. The grounds are beautiful, clean, and tidy. I was a non powered camper. All the facilities were available to me, i.e., showers, kitchen, etc. They did a bomb fire, which was well controlled. Was awesome to sit and watch everyone in the camping grounds come and sit for hours while it burned. My last night there, I got to camp up on the hill with the view of the sea. Very family orientated. Will definitely go back with my kids.
Great spot, immaculately kept grounds and very clean facilities. Fabulous sea views from where we parked. One of the best camping grounds we've stayed at.
Peaceful, quiet, convenient location for exploring Egmont National Park. Beautiful sunsets by the beach. Close to New Plymouth for restaurants and shopping. Very clean facilities. Good value for money. Friendly owners, easy to make reservation by email.
Beautiful place. We had a warm welcome from the holiday park owners right off the bat. Their laid back vibe made us feel at home. They set up a water slide and bomb fire for the child's and families to enjoy Clean facilities and they take a lot of pride in the landscape and upkeep of the park. Would definitely stay again
Had one night here unpowered site, lovely place to stay. Owners where friendly, facilities clean n tidy, awesome showers. The whole place was clean n tidy. 2 min walk to the beach . Dog friendly too. Highly recommended
The people that run the camp, are wonderful; Lovely friendly people. The Park is very large. With lots of room for every one. Dogs welcome. Ring for more. Surfing, swiming. Fishing. A great Town. A lot of Retro Buildings. Good cafes, New World. Etc. Small trip to New Plymouth.
A good basic campground. No need to book even during Easter for a tentsite. Lots of options for pitching a tent although some are not sheltered. Kitchen could do with a few more stovetop elements as they were quite busy when we stayed there, even though the camp was not at capacity.
Me and my husband loved this place!! Awesome staff and amazing facilities for the price, we stayed at fitzroy beach the night before and paid double for half the quality. We had the perfect spot under some trees and a friendly cat visited a few times: the kitchen and toilets were clean and spacious, and the water pressure was good. Will totally be coming back again and wish we had stayed here the night before as well. Thank you for having us!!
