"These springs are a natural geothermal springs located off the beaten track and nestled amongst nature near Lake Rotoiti, Rotoehu and Rotoma in the Bay of Plenty, New Zealand.The pools are managed by the Waitangi No.3 Trust on behalf of the lands 1200 beneficiaries. The springs are an important part of the history of local tribes Ngāti Tamateatutahi Kawiti, Ngāti Te Rangiunuora and Ngāti Pikiao whanui. Historically the springs have served as a resource for healing, relaxation, wananga educational forums, economic opportunities, food preparation and preparation of weaving materials. The springs have always been used while the block was cultivated."

Lovely authentic springs. So natural and such a beautiful setting with the bush and birds.
Great place. Not too crowded. Very well organised and friendly reception. Make sure you get bug spray. My partner got bit quite badly. Not sure if it’s sand flies or mosquitoes. It looks like little black bugs.
Natural springs that have not been commercialized. Good for a long soak. I love that it is quite basic and rustic with reeds and not crowded. There are floaties on the top but it's not what you imagine. I understand it is iron. Well worth a visit
The whaea at the counter is very friendly and helpful, and because it was a very hot day she even gave the kids some ice blocks! Ngā mihi nui whaea!

Loved the rustic real soda spa. Surrounded by native trees. So relaxed after an hour soak. Could be a bit hot for kids
A great natural hot pool. Been coming here since I was a kid and it was free. How ever it is resonably priced, and there has been a lot of value added. The carpark is maintained and there are toilets and changing rooms. Honestly worth the $8, if you can try go on a clear night, beautiful.
