Story

Waitakere College is a state coeducational secondary school located in Henderson, Auckland, New Zealand, established in 1975. A total of students from Years 9 to 13 (ages 13 to 18) attend Waitakere College as ofStudents entering the college are allocated into one of three "Houses". The house names use Māori words: Aroha (Love), Manawanui (Perseverance), and Matauranga (Knowledge). Their respective mascots are; a Dragon, a Lion and a Dolphin. During the course of the year students can earn points for their house with good behaviour in class and good marks. These points are added up every week in a house assembly to determine the winner for that particular week. This also happens at the end of terms and a final one at the end of the year shows which house has won that year with the most points.Waitakere College offers an extra 'Performing Arts' option run by Stephen Nightingale. Entry is based on an audition process and the course runs for years 9 and 10. It covers drama, dance, music and singing, theatre, film/television, editing, theatre lighting, make-up and costume. The worst school I ever been to. Raw food lunches with animal blood, bullying, racism, sexism, homophobia, lack of technology, lack of hygiene and sanitary and lack of discipline. What's more to say if students from this school are participating in crime activities such as breaking into homes and the principal swears and screams at students with poor english. VERY disappointing.
A very bad start with this college they don't even have enough chromebooks for thier students and the ones they had all the keys on the keyboard where broken or they fell out. I think the ministry of education pays them enough to teach our kids with good quality equipments I hope someone sees my review and fixes that problem.
This school is pretty mid Both students and teacher are the same. My only complained is the amount of rubbish scattered and disgusting behaviour from students around the school that staff have to deal with. I know that we all complain about the assembly and etc but it be fair to feel bad for staff of knowing how much they had to deal with us lololol Government pls pay staff more just a little more

For a cheap westie school, I’m super happy with my education & my career is going really well. Mr nightingale, mr Milne and mr mcardle can all take credit for my career. Less teenage pregnancies than the local religious school as well.
The teachers are cool, Well most of them I'm a former student from the school. The bells are loud and clear mostly good grades come out of the education priceable is nice and is loyal and committed to the jobs some what well organized. Teachers do there job great some go and more good teachers come. Poor quality of some stuff but they get fixed if need be. They waste your time in assembly when the bell as gone for break and the assembly is too long sometimes. Poor design of things boaring learning experiences. Not strict enough with small things like gum tagging being late to school etc. Over 4 out of 5 experience for me.
this school was the absolute best time of my life!!! Poland was the greatest nuisance of all and kept us on our toes LOL but in the end he was a cool dude. Meet people here that remain near and dear to me even after all these years.......GRATEFUL

I went to this school and I loved it good teachers but the only thing I dislike was the old school uniforms the red and blue jumpers i used to get itchy in them alot and tops was to simple like 6 years ago now since I left im 26 years old now and they finally changed the uniform 2 years later.. but I do recommend send teens to Waitakere college school worth it. That's my thoughts about this school.
Great school to send ur kids. I highly recommend this college from my personal experience. Very supportive teachers with very effecient principal makes this college an excellent place.
