The Watitakere Bears Softball Club is one of the largest softball clubs in New Zealand with more than 400 members. The club offers the opportunity for children to learn the game at an early age by playing tee ball (3 to 9 yrs old) as well as competitive fastpitch softball for youth to adult (10 yrs old and up). In fact, the Waitakere Bears Softball Club boasts more than 50 teams across all ages (including adult social teams), which play in local and regional competitions and routinely are amongst the top teams (if not the top team) at each grade level. To that extent, the club holds at least five tournaments throughout the year which members both participate in and help run.
