Wairarapa Model Aero Club facilitiates and supports the sport of aeromodelling in the Wairarapa.
Aeromodelling is all about building and flying model aircraft. The Wairarapa Model Aero Club helps members enjoy aeromodelling and fly their aircraft in a safe and controlled environment. Our flying site is located at Masterton’s Hood Aerodrome and entrance is via the gate on Mania road just past the Air New Zealand terminal. Club days on Sunday and Thursday mornings attract a good following.
The club is affiliated to the New Zealand Model Aeronautical Association, the national body for the sport in the country, and abides by its regulations. We also help out with hosting the annual NZMAA National Championships which are held in the Wairarapa three out of every four years.
Several club members are approved NZMAA instructors and are more than happy to share their expertise and advice with new members
