Waipa LEOTC Education is an LEOTC programme run by the Te Awamutu Museum.

Story

We believe that our stories and those that stem from our past are worth retelling and rediscovering. From Kupe and Captain Cook, to King Tawhiao and the heroes of Gallipoli and Chunuk Bair, our stories and our journeys are uniquely worthy of passing to a new generation of Kiwi kids!

Loved this place. It's a tidy museum that showcases the local history of it's people. The Uenuku taonga is impressive and carries with it the significance of its mauri.
A brilliant museum that tells local stories well. Waipa district has some history to share of national significance too. Well set up for school groups of all levels and staffed by knowledgeable but open curators. Worth a visit.
Amazing space of knowledge and history
Maori taonga there are displayed well with relevant information. Plenty of reading about local history of the land wars. My 5year old enjoyed the interactive room.
