We’d like to thank the people at Waiotapu Tavern for showing us kindness and helping us out with an out-of-the-ordinary request. Harry was polite and helpful and took time out of his busy day to help us when we needed it, which we’re really grateful for. The tavern is also a great place to have some food or a drink : Thank you again - we’d highly recommend these folks and their business to anyone passing through the area.
The best thing are the pub meals. Tasty and plenty of it. The rooms are ok but they face the main road so noise is a problem. It's filled by road workers Mon-Thu as well at the moment. The facilities are pretty basic.. shared toilet and shower. Nice hot water but you should ask how to make it work in case you're not told. There's tea and coffee available anytime and breakfast cereal and bread.
Me and husband stop here and grab some food for dinner after visiting the waiotapu thermals. We ordered the steak with salad and chips, and it was delicious... Was busy in that time, but the service is still fast. there is no need to wait too long to get our food. And also, I like the decorations of the restaurant.. it's so cool.. :- Will be back here again if we visit waiotapu..
My team and I stayed at the Wai-O-tapu Hotel 29 April through to 1st May 2024. Our stay was awesome the property is rustic, and charming with great staff onsite. We've been in for dinner every night of our stay and the food has been great. I loved my entire stay at the Wai-O-tapu Hotel Food & drinks: My crew and I enjoyed all the food it's been great.
Perfect location to camp and discover the region. There is one shared toilet and shower. 10 dollar per person for a night. 20 places. If you are a light sleeper the traffic might disturb your rest when sleeping in a tent.Rooms: 4/5
Didn't spent the night but a quick lunch was good. A tasty burger, chips and a lager--hard to beat it!Service: 4/5
Service was excellent. Vicki was great. The bedrooms need attention and in our case no bedroom window made the room very stuffy. Highway noise.Rooms: 1/5
Stopped for lunch. Best decision lately! Excellent burger, great value, great service. Lots of choice on the menu, and looked like a good place to settle in for a few beers. Nearby activities: Very convenient for lunch after visiting the thermal park nearby.
Affordable rooms and food, calm place,almost warm at the end of june, happy staff, delicious food. Rooms: Small and old but almost warm and so clean. Also so affordable.
A truly classic New Zealand country pub, nothing fancy, but lots of atmosphere. The usual standard range of beers, but crisp, clean and the right temperature cheap too. Didn't have a meal, but they looked huge. Pool tables and accommodation as well.Rooms: 5/5
