We have just got back from a long weekend away and we 3 Adults, two well behaved doggies and a 6 year old loved our stay. We not the doggies probably spent most of the days on the slides or in the pools. We found a beautiful spot under the trees. Staff were amazing and friendly.Service: 5/5
Loved our stay at waingaro hot springs! Beautiful surroundings, lovely people, hot pools to die for, amazing bird life.. So much to love. Super tranquil being in the middle of nowhere, great pub on the hill to go for dinner.. We will definitely be back in the near futureRooms: 4/5
The place definitely has the 80s 90s feel about it. Greeted by a pleasant old bird who was very accommodating. I do wonder though if she makes any real money here as we were pretty much the only patrons in the 2 days we were there. Place needs TLC badly and sad to see the bumper pools and other areas looked unused for well over a decade. The family room was like straight out of the 80s complete with a broken TV. The cabin was appropriate for what we paid and the residents while surprising to see that people lived there were friendly. I probably wouldn't go back and stay any nights but would go back for a swim definitely. Only thing, when we inquired about the slides they said they needed 8 people or I could just pay for 8 people??? There were 3 of us, cheeky buggers for that one. I give a 4 out of 5 purely because my kids loved the pool and the old bird was full of sass lol. But to be honest, won't be back for a while
We came down from Auckland to Waingaro Hot Springs last week and had the best day out. We had the pleasure of meeting one of the team members, Dallas, as he was running the hydro slides. He had a great energy and gave us an awesome hype talk when we first entered, as well as being absolutely amazing with our children, especially the younger ones. Nice and clean facilities, and great atmosphere.
Iconic NZ old school. So NOT your fancy spa. The road that leads to Waingaro Hot Springs is a treat in itself and from the pools you look out onto lush NZ countryside. Amenities appear original and are scrupulously clean. Staff are genuine and friendly. Be aware you will need to bring your own food and especially fresh water as these are not readily available. For a slice of "The Way We Were" check out Waingoa Hot Pools. The weekday morning we visited was deliciously quiet. Prices are old school too.
Loved going with my son today, situated in what feels like the mountains. Pools were clean, it has alot of potential to be done up with abit of new paint. But overall its a beautiful place to spend the day with family. The slides are so fun! And the lifeguard is what makes it even cooler! Really nice guy!
Retro 80s fun. 6 & 7 year old boys loved it. 7 year old said “it’s the best, the most amazing place I’ve been to”. Not at all fancy, but clean and fun. Make sure you time it so you can enjoy the slides!
We love going to the pools here and have done multiple day trips. Hasn’t changed since the 90s. Kids love the slides and doing manus in the pool. This place really needs an lifeguard though so need to keep an extra good eye on your children.
Prices are good. Where else can you go for $15 an adult and $8 a child for an entire day out. Slides are extra but totally worth it. The old lady in the shop is awesome, but she will call you out over the loud speaker if you are not watching your kids, or doing something wrong. Everyone with a child under 8 is made to sign an agreement stating they will keep their children at arms reach so this is understandable. Stop crying about the little things and visit waingaro.
Really cool place to relax, lots of potential, lovely lady at the counter at the entrance. Supervise your own children of course, no life guards. Good to have someone with you that knows first aid if you want security. Great place for group visits!
