Waikonini Homestead is now available as a BnB , or for your upcoming event or wedding. Situated on lush gardens with beautiful scenery. Originally built it 1882, the two stored homestead features a large verandah, seven bedrooms, butlers pantry, drawing room, study and conservatory. The front door opens up to a large Kauri hanging staircase, attached to the landing above. The floor boards throughout the house are made of wide Baltic Pine with Oregon beams. Another one of the many features is the vaulted ceiling, meters above the staircase. Most of the doors are made from heavy Oregon. Waikonini Homestead is only 30 minutes from Geraldine, or a 2 hours drive from Christchurch which makes it is the perfect place to stop away from the city.It is close to the untouched native bush of Peel Forest Conservation Park, which offers a number for walks, from a short stroll to a tramp with a night in a hut.
