Ordered a salad and enjoyed it on an outside table while listening to bird songs. Food was average, the young waitress was bubbly and lovely. The building of the station itself is just marvelous with lots of historical stories.Food: 3/5
Magic well done team. We even got "Old Farts" Gold card discount. And a great brunch. Another well done.Food: 5/5
I went a little too late so cafe was closed, but the exterior is so unique! Definitely need to come back for the train ride and food!Atmosphere: 5/5
Great coffee, lovely service, amazing date and walnut loaf. thanks heaps for the offer of water to take with us on our motorbikes x
Pros: great location, convenient parking, many tables inside and outside, good atmosphere, and fantastic coffee. Cons: very crowded near the train time, no iced coffee, a bit pricey cabinet food which was very basic and not appealing, uncleaned tables. Conclusion: I would go back there just for coffee if I were in the area.
Hi, my husband and I had morning tea here today. I had a date and orange scone with my cuppa. It was sooo good. Fluffy, light, fresh and full of fruit and flavour. Masterchef quality. The chef/baker deserves a raise. Parking: Loads of parking.
We caught the 9:45am train from Waihi to the Waikino Station Cafe. Staff were amazing and fast - all set for the influx of train passengers. A great choice of cabinet items allowed us to catch the 10:45am train back. The lemon drizzle cake was amazing. Best I have ever had. Giant choc chip biscuits were popular with the kids. Will definitely return to try their hot meals off the menu. A great stop
Lovely little spot to rest at the end of a long bike ride.
Charming station taking you back to days gone by. Service was quick and friendly, lovely selection of eats.Food: 5/5
A nice place to go after a walk through the battery. The only suggestion I have is a nicer tea maybe. I love Twinings at home but when you're paying $5 a 10c teabag just isn't strong enough. Corn fritter was delish though Vegetarian options: A good selection of food - recommend the corn fritter as a light lunch Kid-friendliness: Catch the train from Waihi - perfect for kids. Icecreams and drinks also available Parking: Plenty of parking available Wheelchair accessibility: ramp up to the cafe and a wheelchair accessible loo available
