This one of the few remaining proper humble NZ holiday camps. Absolutely loved it. Less than 2km from the Hauraki Rail Trail slight uphill ride to it and same again from the town centre. We stayed in a standard cabin which had a TV, a heater, and linen, but communal cooking and toilet/shower facilities. The communal kitchen has a lot of what you'd ever need kettle, fridge, microwave, pots, cutlery etc. In the women's shower/toilet block there are 2 toilets and 2 showers; all impeccably clean. There's also a TV room everyone can use with big couches and a book library take one/leave one. No online booking is a bit of a pain these days, but the staff are nice and helpful via phone/email.
Had a relaxing stay here. Rosie was great to deal with, lots of hints and tips for the area and really friendly. There are powered and non-powered sites as well as the cabins. The sites are well shaded and grassy. A larger kitchen, fully stocked with everything you need and several nice sitting areas provide you with lots of space to relax. Everywhere was clean. It's an easy walk to town, quiet at night. A quick drive to the beach. Recommend and would definitely stay again if in the area.
This was a nice sanctuary from the hustle and bustle of the bigger campgrounds. Most of what you hear is singing birds and a babbling brook. Well equipped kitchen and decent toilets/showers. Owner was very friendly with good tips on what to do in the area. Friendly long term residents also. Stayed for 3 nights and enjoyed it. Good shade for sunny days. If you are into coffee the local roastery sells some great coffees and beans. Really nice Med/Turkish restaurant only a 15 minute walk away.
This is probably the best motorcamp we have stayed in. The bathrooms are spotless all day and every day. The staff are incredible. Rosie is a very special lady. Plenty of shade and such a safe camp. Thank you for having us.
We had a powered caravan site under the trees for 5 nights, so not sure of the rooms. It is a lovely spot. Pet friendly, nice walk along river for the dogs to swim at. Fantastic shower pressure. Friendly staff Service: 5/5
We stayed here because it is close to the Hauraki rail Trail, it is also a lovely bike ride through the back roads to the village for coffee/brunch. Rosie is just love lovely, very friendly. Some facilities need a bit of TLC but are clean, they have a playground, swimming pool and are dog friendly. No concrete, lots of grass. The price is great. Xoxo Nearby activities: Hauraki Rail Trail and a fabulous walking track around the open cast mine, as well as a very friendly Waihi 'village' atmosphere. The locals are also lovely.
We enjoyed our stay. We went there at the last moment with out any booking or had plans to stay there for night however Rossy was so helpful and we decided to stay. She also gave us knowledge on what to donearby. Hot shpwers were so good. Kitchen facility was also something we really like. Overall good place. Very close to main road as well. Thanks.
A great place to stay .. it’s quiet and has the most peaceful lovely surroundings . The Log Cabin is a treat. Rosie is awesome ! It’s all so laid back and stress free , Rosie is the best host . Cannot recommend highly enoughRooms: 5/5
We only stayed for a night as we were passing by to our next stop but it was a good stop with hot showers and the owner was really nice about us arriving late and paying in the morning. We had an unpowered site and stayed in our camper van, using the kitchen briefly for breakfast before departing.Service: 5/5
Rosie is so awesome to deal with, really helpful and knowledgeable. We had a powered site but looked at the log cabin and it’s lovely. Have stayed twice now and both times have been brilliant. Close to town and rail trail but still in a lovely quiet rural setting. Can’t wait for trip number 3!Rooms: 5/5
