Waihi Martha Mine Pit Rim Walkway

A great walk on a fine day, no rain, there is not much shelter it took us about 2 hours, the signs say 1 hour but there is a bit to look and read the photos attached shows the walk well including the turtle we saw photo included below. There is a panorama photo as well

Beautiful place to visit, with amazing view's. The Rim walkways is also amazing. It's about 4km, with very nice tracks. Must see if you are in the area.

Definitely worth checking out this mine if you're going through Waihi, great to see the old pump house as well as the dump truck. You can also walk all the way around the mine which will take somewhat longer.

Some great views of the pit and the massive land slide, worth the trip

If you're driving down to the coast, its worth stopping in to check out this mine. You can see it for free and check out the huge landslide on the far side of the mine.

Fantastic place to visit, there is a big truck and a digger for the kids to look at and a neat historic pump house. If you are feeling game you can walk around the mine on the loop track which is around 4km
