The lookout provided an expansive view of the gold mine below. The giant dump truck nearby was the subject of a few snaps. The ring structure like the Stargate from the movie made a good frame for a photo with the mine in the background.
Such a nice experience!

This is a Cool way to see some Local History and a Full Scale Open Mine.Its a Nice easy Walk up from the Carpark and you can walk a couple of Different ways up and down.It only takes about 10 mins to get around it and has some seats to sit back and enjoy the view/rest,drink etc.Worth checking out as Waihi has a Lot of Goldmining History Locally and In Karangahape Gorge/Hauraki Rail Trail via Waihi or Paeroa.
Went there on our way back home from Tauranga, gives you a nice view over the mine and the surrounding area. We went also into the Goldmining Center where you can buy gifts and book tours. Worth an stop and a stroll through Waihi.
