Waihi Community Marae
The Waihi Community Marae aims to provide a Community Marae in Waihi where anyone of any nationality or sex may equally and freely speak or participate, subject to his, or her observance of the rules and etiquette of the Marae.
The Wharepuna or meeting house is based on Maori concepts incorporating within this framework, but not overlapping, as many cultures as possible.
Our aim is to foster, promote and encourage members to play an effective part in the social, educational and economic development of the community.
We also aspire to promote fellowship and understanding between all races and to promote the maintenance and preservation of Maori arts and crafts, Maori language and Maori culture and tradition.
