Highly recommend going out on a ferry and watching the city from afar.
Only giving 3 stars cos of all the roadworks. Nonetheless, they have done a good job putting up signages to guide you to the right pier. People manning the info desks are also friendly. Ferries are roughly on time. Take a ride to get amazing views of the Auckland skyline!
The Auckland Wharf Building is an iconic building that has been in existence for over a hundred years and is a retro Victorian building. He was originally a wharf association and now it has become a hotel. Overlooking the entire Auckland pier on the dock building, it is very beautiful. It is also the background of the red photo taken at the Auckland Pier. It is definitely worth a look.
Always bustling with tourist leaving or coming to Auckland. Lined up with restaurants and cafes... Most importantly, thank you Auckland Council for installing public drinking fountains in strategic places round the terminal
There was a detour by Waiheke Island to go to the city centre from Half moon bay. When the ferry arrived in Half moon bay, the staff told people that the ferry has to go to Waiheke island first to go to the city centre. It was my first time to take a ferry from Half moon bay with my 1 year old baby, and that was such a unexpected journey. The worst was on the way back to Half moon bay from the city centre. I was waiting for the ferry at 3pm in the city centre terminal, there was no ferry coming and one of the staff told people to follow. So I followed her with my baby in a pram, and we were in a queue. After a few minutes, I found out one of the staff tried to get an uber for people. There was no official announcement and apology about that. The worst was I was with a baby in a pram. The uber didn't have a baby car seat, which put a baby so much in danger. I didn't have any other option. My husband and I was unhappy about the situation. Also there was no explanation about the fact that we had to tag off the AT Hop card from the ferry terminal. The experience with the ferry on that day was just ridiculous and crazy. I would never take a ferry again with my baby and I wouldn't recommend it to my family and friends.
After I paid for a ticket and get to the gate they tell me it's canceled and is being done by Uber, but I can't take my bike in the Uber Great communication guys
Ferry is the best way to commute and travel in Auckland! The ferries are very punctual and depart to a variety of destinations around Auckland. Highly recommend a trip to Waiheke for any visitors!
Trains are always late - I know this is the ferry terminal but Auckland transport doesn't care so why should I
Was awesome has the cloud that you could go for a walk down and check out well you wait for you ferry nice place to take photos easy getting our tickets was a awesome first time experience for me
As an inexpensive way to see the bay, a return to Devonport at $12 is a nice way to spend an hour or two. With a little drink at the Esplanade Hotel. If you're planning on taking the sight seeing bus tour, that includes a ferry ride in the price.
