The Waihōanga Centre has a beautiful lodge and a number of cabins that can be used by private groups for retreats, workshops, celebrations/gatherings and educational events.

Thanks for the beautiful setting and services supplied for the Thai Yoga Weekend Course. The venue has thought of everything you could need. The kitchen is well supplied with every utensil, teas, wonderful cookbooks, a lovely welcoming fireplace and dining area. The lounge also has a fireplace in the large warm space. Outdoors are bbq area, lovely walks to the river and a gorgeous outdoor fire setting to sit around and watch the stars while hear the nearby brooks/river. Peaceful large private venue in the beautiful Otaki Forks. Thanks again. Tracy
Our group stayed at Waihoanga for a weekend retreat in November and loved everything about it. The main lodge has everything you need, and the additional cabins provided privacy for those who needed to be away from the main group. Our hosts were really tuned in to meeting our needs, and although it rained most of the time, this just added to the beauty of the venue. I can't wait to visit again.
The retreat centre was the perfect location for our group of 15 + 5 kids and was a bit hit with everyone! The yurt was a special place to meditate together in a beautiful setting! The facilities were exceptionally clean, warm and well stocked with everything we needed for communal cooking. We had more than enough space and the beds were very comfortable with high quality linens/bedding. Andy was welcoming and the attention to detail and care taken of the buildings and property is very evident! Due to the building layout and preference of the owners that outdoor shoes are removed at the doors to the common areas to understandably keep the carpeted areas free of mud in the winter season, I would recommend bringing a footwear option which is easy to slip on and off. Experienced a fabulous weekend at Waihoanga. The accommodation exceeded expectations - the kitchen/dining was well equiped, spacious and warmed by a lovely wood burner. The sitting room was a calm welcoming space also with a lovely wood burner. The Yurt was a highlight also warmed by wood burner - it provided a unique space for a best ever yoga session! The sleeping bunk rooms were cosy and comfortable. The retreat is nestled in amongst scenic bush and is only a short walk from the Otaki river. All very lovely.
Had a beautiful 4 day wānanga here. The bush setting is deceptively peaceful for being such easy access from Wellington - all you can hear is the birdsong and the cicadas. Rhian & her family were great, attentive hosts. Can't recommend this enough for your event or community group.
Waihoanga was simply perfect for our annual family holiday. Three generations and 24 members thoroughly enjoying all that Waihoanga has to offer. We would highly recommend the facility and the team of Andy, Rhian, Georgia and Valamaya not forgetting Bryn make you feel so welcome, we look forward to the time we return. Perfect spaces inside and out for reflecting, creating and celebrating with our team. Private, beautifully maintained, views and walks to river from front gardens. The Waihoanga team are lovely - great to communcate and organise with. We'll be back soon!
We had a great stay in one of the cabins a few weeks back. It's a beautiful place right next to the river and the hosts are are lovely people. If you are after a peaceful place to hang out in the bush this is it.
I attended a retreat weekend here a few time here, I loved it. So lovely & peaceful. All you can here is the birds and this River
