Wai O Tapu - Lady Knox Geyser

Amazing place to visit... Very well managed and informative. There are other options too but I don't feel they stand anywhere near to this... One should have at least 4 hours to visit this place...Be on time as this is only for 10 AM.

Beautiful natural attraction. Host was knowledgeable and engaging. Would love to go again when it's not raining.

Nice sized geyser which is stimulated artificially each day at 10:15 with environmentally friendly 'soap'. Worth a visit and taking the walk round the various pools and lakes. Takes 2 hours for the complete trip.

Not sure how this goes off around 10.15am every day, I have a feeling it is what is added to the geyser by the person conducting the talk about the history of the geyser. I would get their early as around a 200m walk from the car park and traffic is crawling from 10 to get a park, purchasing tickets online the best idea.

Commercial artificially started geyser -> not enough water now in summer, low and short duration. Feels like theatre. Not worth at all, try to go to some natural one, erupting when it wants. Not that easy to get not every day at 1015 exactly but for sure much better experience.

It was a lovely winters day with clear blue skies. I was surprised to find out the geyser was given a little boost to help it erupt but it makes perfect sense when the tour guide explains the well designed process. Worth a visit

Check the times as the gates are locked outside the "show times". Plenty of parking, great for the kids, all over in under 10 mins. Don't be fooled into buying tickets if you're not planning on entering the park, this bit is free. Dress warm.

Wasn't exactly the best. The explosion lasted for at max. 45 seconds and didn't reach the expected 15 metres. The geyser was also started with a quick speech for safety and then just soap being added to make the anti-climatic start. Wasn't worth the time especially not exploding on time.

Before going, we were very curious about how it goes eruption once a day. After visit, we knew the truth lol. The eruption of water could reach about 7-10 meters high. Cool If you haven't seen before, you can have a try. Not a bad experience.
