Story

Wags Pet Hotel is a brand new facility conveniently located just off state highway 1, 1.5 hours from Wellington and 45 minutes from Palmerston North. The luxury individual rooms are fully insulated and have specially designed sliding doors to allow your pet to access their own individual outside area when ever they choose. Multiple play areas with interactive play gyms and numerous toys are a feature and we cater for Doggie Day Care, and both short and long term boarding.

All of our bedroom suites are tiled and fully insulated and are all connected to their own spacious outdoor under cover areas. Each private suite can easily accommodate two members from the same family with specially designed beds and sliding doors leading out to their private outside suite.Your special fur friends will be cared for by a dedicated team of professional and experienced animal carers who live on the property and have 24/7 access to our on call vet if required. We happily cater for long or short term visits, doggy daycare and we always aim to exceed your expectations."

I boarded my golden retriever Ted here and he loved it! They have great interactive equipment out the back for the dogs to play with/on and I got the option for them to give Ted treats daily for a small extra charge. When he came home they even did a cute little certificate for him! Will 100% be bring Ted back next time we go away!
Took my two Irish Setters to Wags for their haircuts and very happy with the result. Listened to how I wanted them trimmed and did as I asked.
I can't say enough how happy I am we made the switch and came here with our pup for doggy daycare. She adores it and the staff are brilliant so involved true animal lover's! Little certificates for the dogs and everything. Couldn't ask for more. Keep it up wags! You guy's are the best!!

Lisa and the team have been fantastic. We were nervous first time users a couple of months ago and they supported us as we handed over our precious fur babies. Our biggest worry was about how our two would behave. I talked with Lisa about our concerns and what we thought our dogs risks were. She went through their strategies for managing the different issues. They clearly know dogs and are comfortable managing groups of dogs. How kindly they treated our concerns was a perfect reflection for how they treated our dogs - the dogs came back happy, relaxed and when we took them back next time, they happily charged in to greet the team. This confirmed for us they had a good time. Going to Wags and hanging out with other dogs in a controlled environment has been good for our dogs. They seem more relaxed around other dogs in general which has helped my confidence in them around other dogs. The team are experienced with big dogs which gave me confidence for our two. The kennels are well set up and our dogs stayed together in one area. As we are happy leaving our dogs there, we now have greater freedom to go away for a few days. The senior dog I put in for Day Care loved it.I will take him again as he is totally deaf but had obviously been in a Group to cater for this.

Our dog loves it here, and he is very sensitive,so we know he is well looked after. Staff and owner very friendly, glad we have it nearby.
Great place to leave your dog, experienced and friendly staff. Our dog was happy to be left here and was exhausted on pick up which was great. It shows she had plenty of excercise and social interaction with the other dogs.
