I would say the testing office Tania B is fabulous, she is very professional and supportive. After failed attempt with Alan B where he was very rude and made fun of my english which he was racist at.nTania was very helpful.
I wouldn’t recommend a driving test with Sylvia, I noticed she wasn’t paying attention to my signalling and checking mirrors. It is shocking how many minuscule ‘mistakes’ she claimed I made. Her demeanour was rude and made me feel horrible about my driving and myself which is entirely unfair as a learner driver who just wants some feedback without judgement. If you are to book here, I would recommend driving with Wiremu as a friend of mine said he was the kindest and understanding to those taking their test. While I was voicing my opinion on the phone, I felt unheard and silenced by Sarah. I was trying to express how badly I felt after my test which was entirely dismissed and biased, not a good way to handle the situation.

If I could put no stars I would.nThis is directly in relation to Alan B. Driving test officer at VTNZ Porirua. He is rude, unreasonable, unprofessional and gives unclear instructions. While explaining hazards, Alan unprofessionally raised his voice at me screaming “when I say thank you, it means you stop talking!!!” he may as well have just told me to shut up instead. Instructions were unclear. Second red flag, I was failed for a “nOn cRiTiCaL eRrOr” which was failing to look into my rear view mirror while braking and going around a dead end street. If the car is in drive and I am braking, I’d think that paying attention to what is in front of me is more important than the DEAD END STREET staring back at me in my rearview mirror, but thats just my opinion. However, I felt this minor error was not sufficient enough to fail my entire test as Alan stated it was a NON-CRITICAL error. Nail in the coffin: Upon our return back to the centre, I asked if there was anything further I needed to work on, Alan said it was just the non critical error an error that even one of his colleagues agreed with me on, should not have costed me the entire $98 driving test otherwise everything else was, in his own words, “perfect”. Alan’s email did not match his words. For example, Allan’s feedback email stated I failed to signal out of a roundabout I beg to differ, it mentioned nothing about the non-critical error he actually failed me on probably because he knows he is wrong for that so decided to fail me on something that I actually know I did. I re-sat my test the same day and Thank the Lord of Heavens above and alllll of Gods angels that were on my side at 4:00pm that Alan was not my testing officer. In conclusion, if you’re looking to sit your drivers test at VTNZ Porirua, steer clear of Alan B no pun intended.nnIf you don’t believe me, here are my sources: the other bad reviews about Alan on google, I’ve had multiple family members who have also had the same experience. To VTNZ in advance before you send your copy and paste response to this review, I will happily lodge a formal complaint but I also will post my review here too to warn others about the people you choose to put in passenger seats of anxious first time drivers license testees except for Tanya. She’s great.
