Coming from someone who has managed to flunk their Restricted Licence test three times in a row, for the love of all things good and holy, have more than five professional lessons before the test! The three lessons learner drivers are recommended to have before they attempt their test simply aren't enough. This will allow them to practice the exact test route which they will be expected to complete during the test.nnThe testing process is incredibly transactional. There are specific obstacles on the test routes—complicated manoeuvres and such that I would be highly surprised if someone who hadn't paid for practical lessons was prepared for, even if they had sufficient driving experience on various other roads.nnWhile one can understand the need for an unbiased test, the atmosphere of silent indifference inside of the car throughout the experience is bleak and joyless. Staff will give you step-by-step instructions, simply adhering to the checklist they have been given to follow. You're a name on a clipboard, a shift to get through. Not that anyone would expect staff to crank up the radio and remark on how amazing their job is, but would it kill them to crack a smile? For God's sake, tell a joke, break the ice. There's a terrified person sitting beside you carrying the expectations of their family, friends, and society at large to get their driver's licence.
If you go for your driving test and have a man called roy I would strongly advise you turn around and go home. He is known by everyone in the area and still has a job. If you take the test with him he will fail you. He is so rude to especially males and is such a let down for nelson.
Called in today around 11am....straight in couldn't believe our luck...caravan WOF...passed OK but they were helpful in pointing out a few things that will need doing b4 the next WOF...very helpful
Pathetic service, just failed WOF for no reason. Will mostly upsell service if you opt out they will fail WOF. Can't understand how these people still do inspection on car. I took my car to other service station he said no issues. Save your money this is a scam location. NZTA should cancel such service center that run purely on scamming people. Don't even think about going to this service center.
Inspector which failed vehicle needs to learn the New Zealand rule book and not the English MOT standards. Failed vehicle for modifications not matching the LVV cert Dispite the fact vehicle had passed 2 consecutive warrants of fitness at the same testing station without a single change to the vehicle. Keep your modified cars away from these people as they do not want them on the road anymore.
