Test officer Krish was calm, professional, and consistent throughout my full driving test. Even though I was well prepared, I was still quite nervous going into my second attempt, and his clear instructions and steady manner helped me stay focused and drive to the required standard. He was appropriately strict without being intimidating, and the process felt fair, structured, and respectful. I really appreciated the professionalism!
I had a very disappointing experience taking my restricted driving test at VTNZ today. This was my second attempt at this location, and unfortunately I had the same instructor again.nnFrom the very beginning of the test, when exiting the VTNZ site, the instructor appeared irritated and agitated, despite the situation not being my fault. This immediately made me feel uncomfortable and anxious. Throughout the test, his tone and manner negatively affected my confidence and did not feel supportive or professional.nnDuring the reverse parallel parking manoeuvre, I am completely confident that I checked my mirrors and used my indicators correctly. When I stated this, my response was dismissed without explanation, and I was brushed off with the comment that it “wasn’t the only mistake,” without any clear or constructive feedback.nnI understand that driving tests are strict and that not every attempt will be successful. However, candidates should still be treated with professionalism, neutrality, and respect. Unfortunately, this experience felt unnecessarily tense and discouraging rather than fair and objective.nnDue to this experience, I will not be taking any future driving tests with VTNZ and will be looking elsewhere. I hope this feedback is taken seriously so that other candidates do not have a similar experience.
I did my practical test at the VTNZ Glen Innes twice. The first time I failed, it was mainly because I did not come to a complete stop before the stop sign, and the examiner explained it to me in a calm manner at the end. The way they communicated the failure was the first positive sign—clear feedback focused entirely on safety and compliance. That constructive approach actually made me more confident for the retest.nThe second time I took my test, I had a very experienced examiner who was one of the coolest individuals I have ever encountered. He was very fun and also very kind. The test's atmosphere was very professional, yet his friendly approach put me at ease immediately, which I honestly believe contributed to my success. It’s a real testament to the quality of the staff at VTNZ Glen Innes that even under pressure, they make the environment feel supportive. I loved my experience there. I would highly recommend this branch.
