A nice place to stopover for a meal in the American themed Diner. There's a decent selection of food, but it's the Cream Horn that people come for. There is a limited quantity each day and they were already sold out prior to the stated closing time the last time I came by. This time I made sure I came earlier during lunch time. There a playground for the kids too
Great kiwi food, hot coffee and cream cornets to go. We’ll need to go back for the mince on toast and the lamb’s fry with bacon. Fifties decor and outside tables in the garden. The place to stop at Sanson.
Nice place to stop by on your way through Sanson, especially with kids as it has a playground. Food was fine, nothing special though. Kids loved the horns. However, the staff wasn’t very welcoming and also closed the cafe an hour earlier than stated on their website. Might be an unpleasant surprise for travelers.
Cream Horns gets a new meaning! We opted to eat something light and added a cream horn with it. The taste slaps your chest like a sumo wrestler. We made this our halfway stop between Wellington and New Plymouth. I can highly recommend this little kitchen.
Great little diner. Awesome outside area for little people to play on. Little man had a great time. I had a whanganui?? Slice it was awesome as was my iced coffee. Burger was average. Would recommend stopping in here Kid-friendliness: Great play area Parking: Right outside about 30 parking spaces Wheelchair accessibility: Ramp available
We were on our way to Taupo and stopped at this cafe after seeing a big sign about the most famous cream horn in Sanson. We tried the lemon and chocolate horns and they were lovely! Crispy skin and the cream was not too heavy. A nice and friendly place to stopover for lunch or coffee. They sold more than 300000 cream horns since the cafe was opened! Worth a visit.
Excellent food, great portions. The friendliest staff I have met. The food here is well worth the trip, stop in.
Best cream horn in New Zealand, perfect Chocolate Thickshake and very happy service… a Road trip must do or every time you pass must do lol Diner decor and photo’s amazing Food: 5/5
Nice cafe seems very popular with the locals and why not a tasty full breakfast with a hot drink for $20 great value. Friendly staff and quick service even though was busy.
Stopped into here for a quick lunch today as it is always a good place to stop to get some food. It is always very busy as it is home to the famous cream horn but the food never fails to disappoint. I got a pork and onion roll which was very tasty which also came with a nice green salad which I wasn't expecting. All the food here is also very reasonably priced and I was satisfied with my pork roll which only cost $7.50. The staff here were also friendly and efficient which was great. My only complaint is that there was no free water avaliable but I'm sure if you asked the staff they would of bring some over to you. Overall this a great stop for a quick and affordable place to eat.
