I completed the NZ Certificate in Business Administration & Technology course in 2018. Tutors were great, helpful and supportive. As it was a self-directed course I enjoyed the flexibility too. Students and tutors created a fun environment and Admin staff were friendly too. An enjoyable experience.
I learnt and i am learning many new things at this institute. The environment of this institute is very silent . The staff of the school is very good . All the teachers are always ready to help the students. We do lotsof fun activities with study also .
This is a review of the Web Design & Development Diploma beginning Semester 1 2017. I thought a one year diploma focusing on web development would be perfect alternative to a three year Bachelors in IT, and being only 2 days a week would give me time to work as well. The course started off hopeful, we had two tutors with industry-experience who were able to guide us through front-end development, namely JavaScript. However course material was severely lacking, and our tutors had to come up with exercises for us to do when there was nothing to teach, which was often. In Semester 2, things got much worse. We had a new tutor to replace the ones that left. This tutor has no clue when it comes to web development, having a Bachelor of Computer Science where web development was perhaps a small part. They had limited industry experience, having only built or one two WordPress sites. They had never built a PHP site, one of the languages they were supposed to teach us. What they taught was frequently incorrect and they seemed to have no desire to upskill, instead often wasting time sitting on Facebook or Trademe. Many of our class actually ended up surpassing them by the end of the course. Our classes became assignment work and most of our learning was self-directed. We were told by our tutor there was no need to come back 8 weeks out from the end of the course because there was nothing left to teach. I honestly struggled to maintain the enthusiasm to finish this course, like my classmates, over half had dropped out by the end. Warning, the course 'breakdown' in the info booklet at the time was very misleading, there was a long list of things we did not even cover. When asked about this, I was told it was 'for marketing purposes, and not reflective of what would actually be taught'. Don't get sucked in like I did. Several of us lodged complaints about this course to no avail. I was extremely disappointed with the learning outcomes, if I had not self-taught before and during this course I would not feel confident going into the web development space. I do not recommend the Diploma of Web Design & Development at Vision College to anyone.
What a joke! Graduated from the Web Diploma in Nov 2018, it is now almost 6 months later ....still no diploma, still no NZQA record, not to mention the 'tutor' Jacqueline was an absolute disgrace to the industry. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY AND TIME!
