This is without doubt the best 'staycation' spot in Auckland! Even though you're only 30 minutes out of the CBD, you could be in a whole other world here. Surrounded by vineyard and native bush, with the odd rabbit popping by to say hello, the setting is outstanding. The little houses - all named after wines - are so cute - great in summer, but I love them so much in winter! Light yourself a real fire, pour a glass of good wine and settle in for the night; we love cooking for ourselves, but on previous visits we've popped across the fence for dinner at the Hunting Lodge next door, which is fabulous. The beds are sooooo comfortable, you won't want to get up! Hosts Elle and Barry are consummate professionals; nothing is too much trouble. Can't recommend Vineyard Cottages highly enough. Can't wait for my next vist!
The Vineyard Cottages are stunning! I spent a few days here with my friends and family before my wedding at Kumeu Valley Estate. The staff at the Vineyard Cottages are like no other, they are incredible! Everything you could think of was considered and they make your stay extra special. You feel like part of the family when you stay there. The rooms are perfect for 2-3 people to stay in and getting ready for a wedding it’s lovely being able to dip in and out of each others cottages. The small extras are such a luxury - mini jams, lovely bread, milk and juice in classic bottles and if you book the bridal package the breakfast platter is incredible. I would highly recommend this venue to any brides and her friends looking for a lovely setting before the big day or for anyone looking for a lovely relaxing escape in the country. An added bonus is the beautiful backdrop for photos! Thank you again Rae, Ellie and co we will be back!

My family of 8 adults and two babies stayed at the vineyard cottages last weekend over two nights and everything was perfect. From the beautiful tranquil bush setting with bird life and rabbits, it was everything we needed getting ready for a busy wedding. The cottages themselves had everything required plus so many extra thoughtful touches like a beautiful breakfast all ready for us in the fridge, even eggs and a log fire. The bedrooms and bathrooms were so comfortable! And lounge area was perfect to come back to after a busy day. Elle and her team were so welcoming and friendly and nothing was a bother. Would definitely come back.
Absolutely stunning location and lovely, welcoming hosts, Barry and Elle. Thank you for making our stay so special. The cottages are so warm and cosy with so many unique details that it feels like you are time travelling into a different time in a different place in the world! We stayed with a group of family and friends to celebrate my 40th, and we had an amazing stay!
Staff were super friendly and quick to respond when messaged ahead of time with questions. Easy to find and easy to locate our own cabin. Firewood was delivered and breakfast in the fridge while we were at our event which was lovely to come back to. Bed was comfy and warm. Overall good night and place to stayRooms: 5/5
Stayed at Vineyard Cottages for five nights with our 2 year old son. Had a fantastic stay, very much thanks to the warm hospitality and beautiful surroundings. The cabins have a nice outdoor terrace on the front and in the back, beds are comfortable and the small details like really nice bathroom amenities made the stay perfect. The The Hunting Lodge vineyard wine cellar and restaurant is just next door and offers great food and tastings. #families #couples #perfect
Sunday 27th March. A weekend we will never forget. The cottages are so rustic, yet modern. The setting olde world enchanting. The hosts amazing! We felt like we were being pampered all the way. They genuinely cared for how we felt and showed interest in all our chaotic organising for the wedding. Our family and friends would highly recommend their cottages for an escape weekend, or more. Five Star+
One out of the box - this was like a visit to the UK including a cooing pigeon in the trees. Lots of fascinating items and decor in the cottages, luxury bedding and a log burner for warmth and ambience. Excellent wines and dinner next door for a walk through the vineyard. Great hosts.Rooms: 5/5
Roaring fire, 1 bed cottage named Champagne, private patio and an option to cook if wanted to, continental breakfast and wonderful hosts with a vast range of knowledge about the surrounding Kumeu area and further afield. Wonderful place for a get away, close to home by distance but a world away as the clock ticks. Recommend to anyone wanting a break or some full on R&R. Thanks!
