The food is good as I requested but not for the price. Its expensive for the quantity of food. The customer service is not really satisfied. The staff had grampy face. I went on Queen's birthday there was a surcharge of 10% which displayed in the counter table. I didnt realise until i wentover to pay. There is only inside seats and environment is nice with music and lights.
We came to Village India several time before the pandemic, then could not come to NZ for almost 3 years. We’re back and after arriving from the US today—of course we went to Village India! Tonight we tried lamb pasanda and the mushroom and Eggplant curry. Both were amazing! We will definitely be back!
Ordered two curries that were both really tasty and decent size portions. We had the naan and a rice too which paired really well. The wine and beers were great too, we would definitely recommend.
Delicious food, great service and atmosphere. Food was tasty and lots to choose from. Really enjoyed our evening. Highly recommend!
We ordered takeaway from Village India, and were moderately disappointed. We phoned in, and were told the wait for the food would be 30 minutes, but it was actually 1.25 hours, so we ended up sitting in the restaurant for a long time waiting. The food was pretty good, particularly the aloo gobi. I found it expensive, over 120$ for four dishes and a few naan. In spite of the good food the experience has spoiled our feeling - overall I think there are better Indian Restaurants in Blenhiem.
Ordered online with a confirmation email of agreed pickup time. Arrive to pick, order not ready, their excuse had several orders for that time. So you could have phoned me or emailed and asked to change the time BUT NO YOU WANT TILL WE GET THERE TO PICKUP. 20 minutes we had to wait. NOT IMPRESSED. As for the meal 1st dish the chicken was moist, ordered a medium, was more a hot and overpowered the flavours and the sauce taste like water. Lacked depth or complexity of flavours. Our rating 0 2nd dish korma, rather sweet sauce, ordered a mild lacked depth of flavour our rating 1 Buttured naan, where was the butter? Onion bhaji pretty good, rating 3.5 Overall extremely disappointed
Had an excellent lunch here 2 persons, 34 nzd, Chicken Tikka Massala, Chicken Eggplant Musheoom curry with rice and 2x Garlic Naan, no drinks middle of feb'20. Very friendly staff and excellent food, reocmmended!
Very affordable and food is amazing! Meat is very tender. Obsessed with their cheese garlic naan bread!
Worst Saag Paneer I’ve ever had and I’ve had bad saag paneer and palak paneer but this was so bad I won’t forget it. I realize the irony of saying it tasted like curry leaves but the taste of ground curry leaves was so strong it was the only thing I could taste. It was inedible and for $23, what a rip off. The naan bread is good but that’s not enough to get me to go back.
The best Indian restaurant that I have ever eaten. Food quality, service and atmosphere A++ The manager she knows her clients and make great suggestions of what they might like. Definitely will be back.
