This is a lovely little takeaway shop. I'd heard about their fried chicken and it was some of the best chicken I have ever had. It was so tender and juicy. It was well worth the drive to Oxford just for that. Their egg and chive sandwiches are absolutely delicious and are packed with filling. Their hot chips are Golden and crunchy. A+++ food rating
Absolutely the best fish and chips I've ever had the pleasure of eating. I've tried many a fish and chip in my long 19 years on this earth and these surpass even Hokitika Townchip formerly Porkie's, they've gone downhill since rebranding so they actually kinda suck now. Porkie's was my all time favorite chip until Village Foods graced my tastebuds, and since then no other fish and chip shop can satisfy my refined palate. Highly recommend the fish bites, they hit the spot every time and I've become slightly addicted to them - 5 times in a week cannot be healthy, but if I die young, at least I'll die with a Village Foods fish bite in my gob. My only gripe is that they aren't open on Mondays - sometimes after a hard weekend of sleeping in and eating Village Foods fish and chips for dinner, all you want is more Village Foods fish and chips.
Their Curry Fried Chicken tastes EXACTLY like KFC, and at a great price too. Very well done!nThey're also one of the only places that sells coffee after 4pm in Oxford.nnNice variety of food and drinks, and friendly staff
The slaya kody s always said you'll see something interesting in oxford but if yah don't, make sure yah swing into village foods and wrap yah laughing gear around the best fried chicken this side of Heaven. A powerful experience, a crisp crunch of 12 secret herbs and spices into the juiciest thigh you'll ever get. Ooooo yerrrr not only that, big red of the waitaha valley definitely rates the mini sausage rollyz as being the best breakfast after a big night at the working men's club.nPies are great, chips are delicious, tomatoe sauce couldn't be better and if yah lucky ring the cuzzies up on the phone to whaack a whole chook in the grease; MARVELLOUS I tell yah.nGive it time they'll be writing books about this hidden greazy gem, a true culinary experience not to be missed.nn*they do a good can of coke also.
