This gallery makes my eyes sparking, unexpected to have a lovely break time here before taking the ferry, i got a few antiques from this pop up shop.
Now called Raumati 'summer', this is a well curated art gallery with high quality, affordable works on sale, including some particularly imaginative pingao weaving. Marg Morrow, an outstanding Hokianga photographer, was on duty when we visited and was very knowledgeable about all the works on display. I recommend this gallery highly.
Always a beautiful selection of art from local artist's and some artist's from further afield including a few international artists, this is a gallery that can hold it's own beside some of the biggest in New Zealand, except it's located in a little slice of paradise instead of a bustling city..
Village Arts does an incredible job of having regular exhibitions, for a small community in the Hokianga, it's a must to stop here. I go whenever I can and wish I could go more often. Simply a stunning gallery in a beautiful small town.
