After living abroad for several years, this was the first place my folks took me for a good ol NZ Pie. Absolutely amazing. Lamingtons, lolly cake, sausage rolls. This place is everything I remember about NZ as a kid.
We stopped here simply based on how many other people we saw going in, so figured it must be good. And it was!! We had a steak and cheese and a mince and cheese pie, both had a good amount of meat and a generous amount of cheese - very tasty. Our toddler LOVED the egg sandwich! We also shared a custard doughnut which although not quite what we were expecting in terms of texture it was more like a bread, it was still delicious. Definitely recommend if you're after a quick bite to eat and looking for bakery food.
Fantastic experience this morning! Very busy with lots of customer yet staff were extremely efficient and friendly. Food and coffee was delicious, especially the cronuts!
Ordered a birthday cake. Icing looked amazing, but there was no sweetness to it. The only sweet part. Cakes are meant to be sweet?was the jam
Very friendly and helpful staff. The guy who served us was enthusiastic and knowledge, and happy to make recommendations. The food was good too. Generous serving sizes and quality ingredients. We sat outside and I think this was the worst part about it, the outdoor seating is close to the road. Overall it's worth stopping at, especially if you can find a park.
Perfect place to stop for that early morning coffee. Amazing service & particularly liked the very warm greeting for this Australian visitor over four mornings from the staff making the coffee. A great way for anyone to start the day. Well done Viands.
A regular stop for us when we pass through Kihikihi. Love the pastries, pies and cakes!!!! Always looking beautifully delicious and professional. Go visit it and treat yourself if you haven't already!

EDIT. Thankyou for the complementary coffee. Went in yesterday, the staff were lovely and the coffee great. Will have to stop again next time we are passing. Long road home from Hawera wanted to stop for something sweet and a decent coffee. The 2 bee stings were stale. And it was only 11am so guessing they were not freshly made today. The 2 coffees were made by 2 different people. Mums coffee was really good. She was happy. Mine was trim made by a lady with glasses and it literally burned the top of my mouth and was not pleasant to drink until we were nearly in Cambridge WAY TOO HOT
