Story

Verdon College is a co-educational Catholic secondary school, created after an amalgamation of Saint Catherine's College and Marist College. It was built on former farmland at the eastern boundary of Invercargill and named after Bishop Michael Verdon (1838–1918) who was the second Catholic Bishop of Dunedin (1896–1918).

Last open day for Verdon I attended was about 8yrs ago when picking a school for one of my oldest. I was highly disappointed in hearing a couple of staff bad mouth a family and how many teachers weren't able to engage. This time around how ever it was a very warm and welcoming and approachable atmosphere that showed case the best parts of the school. Pluss the principals speech was much better this time around. Well done on a nice and interactive welcoming open day.
I Currently Go To This School, And, It's Alright... For School Standards, But, There Are A Bunch Of Problems 1: The School Has A "No Smoking And No Vaping" Rule, But They Do Nothing About It, Not Only Is It Done In The Bathrooms, Also In The Canteen! A Place Teachers Are Always Watching! 2: Discipline They Have Basically None! Kids Burnt Down A Bush On School Grounds, And Guess What, They Only Got A Detention! A DETENTION!! The School Is Too Soft! They Say "It's So Hard To Get In!" But If They Expelled All The Troublemakers, They Could Have Enough Room For More Kids! 3: Computers The Computers In The Atrium, Are Soooo Bad! They Are From 2008, And They Expect You To Do Your Work, So This Year They Replaced Them, They Look Newer, But Are Worse! It Takes TWO MINUTES JUST TO SIGN IN! They Are Rubbish! 4: Banning Phones They Banned Phones For Y7/Y8, This Made Kids So Board, They Started To Ruin The Bathrooms Even More! And They Made The School WiFi, Worse! Making Working On Computers In School, So Annoying!
It is corrupt! From what this school has done to my child I will not forgive them
Both daughters went here small school good teacher to puple ratios friendly
It's alright, one thing though, some of the teachers don't last very long.
