Story

The North Otago Branch of the Otago Chamber of Commerce, Waitaki District Council and Tourism Waitaki recognized a gap locally within the economic development space.
Together they organised a two focus group sessions with around 40 local business people to discuss and gather feedback.
It was decided that a new independent group be set up named Venture Waitaki Inc to fulfill an economic development role.
Venture would be independent of Council and the Chamber of Commerce but work alongside both on key projects.
Aim to work on 2-3 economic development projects at one time driving development for the region.
Voluntary business or individual membership
Annual subscription of $200 per member that will be the seed funding for the organisation.
It has been identified that the first project would be a website that would promote Waitaki as a great place to work, live and play.
Members would have a profile of their business on this site and it would be the key marketing tool for business developments and opportunities.
