Velvet Burger

Tasty burger! I have ordered the 'Big Burger' with fries on the side, the burger itself looked and tasted really good with all the toppings. 4 Stars from me - was a bit overpriced for what i got in my opinion. 16 NZD for the hamburger alone or as written: 15.90 + 5.5 NZD for a below-average fries. Still, it was a good experience!

Truth be told, when it comes to flavour wise my friends have asked me if my tastebuds are actually functional; I’m just not picky at all and generally love everything!! These burgers were no exception. My friend and I got the velvet lady; the buns were crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside as were the fatties fries; the skinnies fries are like maccas fries so go fatties tbh; the chicken was juicy and cooked well, the sauces esp the aioli was omfg, and the veggies were fresh and crisp asf!!! Kinda wish they had smaller buns just so that the ratio was right but service and food was 100%!!

Went to Valvet burger today. Ordered a OQ beef burger . The lady at the counter was quite attentive on taking my order . And when I ordered, I asked roughly how long the burger will take , she said about 10- 15mins . I quietly waiting in the restaurant and as promised the burger came within the time frame . As I was half way through , the I realized that the burger was quite raw on the inside . I didn't want to make a fuss , I picked out all the raw bits of the pattie and put them on the plate . And continued to finish my burger .I normally have medium rare steak so I don't mind a bit of rawness . But one side of the pattie on the raw side . I finished the burger it did taste quite nice . I put all the raw bits on the plate , there were about 6-7 small pieces of raw meat that I picked out and left on the plate . One of the lady staff asked if I was finished , so she can take my plate . I said yes . I then saw her looking quite carefully to see what the red pieces of meat were that I left on the plate as she took my plate and turned around to take it too the kitchen . But she didn't ask me anything . She didn't ask me how was my meal and if everything was alright etc , even when she saw what was left on the plate . The service could be more improved . Would I got back , I would say yes , I always give a place a 2nd chance . The burger did taste good . The service was ok , could of been better . A customers feedback Is really important , they should ask all customers how the meal went and if everything was ok . Because if you don't ask , the customer won't be able to tell you . It was only a small issue , that could of been easily dealt with if the staff had asked at the time .

Really nice burgers. It’s not often you get anything other than salad and tomato as normal veggies in your burgers so I personally loved getting cucumber. We tried all 3 kind of fries and everything was really nice. Portions are pretty big too. Thanks for such a nice takeaway

Really delicious burgers and wide range to choose from. Definitely prefer the shoestring fried over the thicker cut ones. Loved the wall decor and the wooden interior. Great place to get some lunch with friends.

Ordered the 4 burgers combo for 48 dollars. Definitely worth it. Fresh and big portion.

Ok I’m not sure what the deal is but I almost felt ripped of when I ordered a combo with my burger and didn’t get my drink till I had to ask for it as I was leaving not cool however the service was great food was awesome but the condiments needed to be regularly topped up not just the water jugs hot sauce also that’s why I’m particularly recommending this place food is good though

I had always heard they were one of the top burger chains, but ehh idk on this first visit I haven't missed too much. Ordered the chicken burger of the month, but only after I paid did they tell me that the specific chicken breading was out, and the replacement crumb breading tasted too burnt to me. They brought out the wrong sized fries at first and the replacement "fatties" were all well over-fried. They were at least very forgiving and speedy about running stuff out, yet having the combo meal itself not be right twice has put a big damper on the experience. Expect to spend $15-25 for food and way more for beer. They do have 2 beers on tap, but otherwise lots of the regular bottles. Plenty of tables and space in back with leather padded seats although some are getting quite worn.

Really excellent burgers, well seasoned fries, come with an ingenious card burger holder! Slowish service but well worth the wait!
